Sysnav Healthcare Presents Digital Endpoints at NEALS 2026

Last week, at the NEALS 2026 Annual Meeting, we presented our collaborative research with Massachusetts General Hospital and Liège University Hospital on continuous, passive monitoring with the Syde wearable in ALS.

Standard clinic visits and questionnaires, such as the ALSFRS-R, only capture brief snapshots of patient mobility, often missing subtle daily fluctuations and early disease progression.

In this multicenter longitudinal study, participants wore our sensor, Syde®, in their everyday environments, allowing us to evaluate real-world digital mobility outcomes, specifically SV95C (peak daily stride velocity) and stride volume (strides per hour).

The results show that continuous real-world gait monitoring is feasible, highly reliable, and sensitive enough to detect ambulatory decline in ALS as early as three months. It also captured progression in patients whose standard clinical scores appeared unchanged, which makes these digital endpoints a more granular, objective measure for ALS clinical trials.
